Transfer credit is assessed based on several factors, including the institution where the course was completed, the level and content of the course, the grade received, the amount of credit or instructional time, and how the course fits within your program. Transfer credit may not be awarded if:

  • the course or institution does not meet our eligibility requirements;
  • the grade does not meet the minimum required;
  • the course content or learning outcomes are not sufficiently comparable to university-level coursework;
  • the course is not at an appropriate level;
  • there is insufficient information available to assess the course;
  • the course is too old for the learning to be considered current; or
  • the course cannot be applied within the requirements or limits of your program.

In some cases, a course may receive transfer credit but may not fulfill a specific program or degree requirement. The college you are admitted to will determine how and if awarded transfer credit will be used toward your program. This list is not comprehensive and is subject to change. Letters of Permission Students who are already working towards a degree program and who want to take courses from another institution must request a letter of permission from their home institution to ensure they receive credit.
